Badgerlink: This resource is available to all Wisconsin residents. It contains many very large databases: EBSCOhost specializes in magazine and journal articles (the Student Research Center makes the information more easily accessible), Newspaper Archive has articles from papers throughout the world, Auto Repair Reference Center and Consumer Health Complete are specialized, reliable resources, and LitFinder, Novelist and TeachingBooks have a wide variety of materials about all types of literature. Encyclopedia Britannica is also available here.
D iscovery Education (United Streaming): U se this resource to view video clips and images to use for class projects or review of subject matter.
Elibrary: This resource includes articles from magazine, newspapers, books, radio/television broadcasts, as well as pictures and videos.
Facts on File: There are four reference databases that comprise Facts on File. They include American History, Modern World History, Science, and Literature.
Library Catalog : This resource provides a complete list of PWHS library materials as well as links to quality databases and websites related to the topics being searched. If you would like to search for books at the Niederkorn and Oscar Grady Libraries, go to www.easicat.net . The public libraries can get books from any library listed in EasiCat through interlibrary loan.
Gale Resources: There are three databases here: Student Center, Opposing Viewpoints, and Global Issues in Context. The first has full-text magazine, book and newspaper articles on many subjects, the secondfocuses on providing information on controversial issues - it is great for persuasive writing, and the third one provides the latest cultural and political information from countries around the world.
Magill's Medical Guide: An up-to-date and easy-to-use compendium of medical information. The print version of this resource is in the PWHS library reference area.
Salem Reference History: This database includes ebook versions of some of our great reference books, including The Seventies in America, The Eighties in America, The Nineties in America, and Great Lives from History: Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
SIRS: Information from many sources, including magazines, newspapers, books, websites, and primary documents is included on SIRS, including a great section on Leading Pro vs. Con Issues.
WISCareers: This database is dedicated to helping you make school and career choices. You will find valuable information on these topics, as well as the tools you need to build a resume, plan a budget, and find actual jobs in Wisconsin.
Worldbook Online: This online encyclopedia also contains a dictionary, atlas, current events, and links to pre-evaluated Web sites.
