TJ Student/Schedule Information

As of August 28, 2012, our enrollment is 768 students in grades 5 - 8.  While we know that the numbers are likely to change with families moving in and out of the District, following is the demographic information as of this date:

Males - 370
Females - 398

5th Grade - 175
6th Grade - 179
7th Grade - 200
8th Grade - 214

Our students are on a split schedule:

7th & 8th Grades: 7:30 AM - 2:36 PM

5th & 6th Grades: 8:14 - 3:20 PM

Students are expected to wait outside before school begins each day (weather permitting*) and are allowed in the building approximately 10 minutes prior to the start of classes.

* The policy for letting the students come into the building earlier depends on the temperature. If the temperature or wind chill factor are below zero, the students are allowed to wait in the hallways until they are released to go to their classrooms. If it is warmer than that, they are expected to wait outside, as staff members are not available to supervise them earlier than 10 minutes prior to the start of classes.

 NOTE: 7th and 8th grade students who participate in after-school activities must either wait in the after-school waiting room between 2:33 and 3:20 or they must leave school grounds. They are NOT allowed to be in the classrooms or halls during this time. There is no supervision available for these students, other than that provided in the after-school waiting room, and as there are still classes for 5th and 6th grade students in session, the halls must be kept quiet. The location of the after-school waiting room changes weekly and is held in the classroom of the teacher who has supervision duty.  This information is provided in the daily announcements. NOTE:  If students leave school grounds they are not permitted back into the building until 3:20. After-school waiting room is also dismissed at 3:20. The students have sufficient time to change before their practices begin at 3:30 PM.
