As we approach another school year, it is worthwhile to mention our ongoing efforts to provide things for the students and staff of TJ that, due to budget cuts, would otherwise not happen.  The JPG exists for that very reason.

In the past few years, we have purchased SMART Boards, the blinds for the cafeteria windows, a full sheet laminator for the teachers, helped with expenses for the Dallas Brass workshops and concert, and gave donations to the TJ Wellness Fair, as well as several other groups and programs. Additionally, a sub-group of 6th grade parents arranges a raffle and asks all 6th grade parents to sell tickets to raise money for the following year when their children participate in the 7th grade outdoor ed campout. In EACH of the last several years, almost $7000 was raised to defray costs. None of this would be possible without the Jaguar Parents Group involvement.

    SCRIP SCHEDULE UPDATE AND PROMOTION   

Orders need to be in on Friday mornings by 8:30.  They are usually available for pick up by Thursday noon in the TJ office.  You or whomever you designate to pick up the orders must sign for the order.

SCRIP is the fundraising program that works while you shop. The greatest thing about it is that there is absolutely NOTHING TO SELL! All you do is spend your money the way you normally do. But, you pay with Scrip instead of using cash, checks or credit cards! Scrip is simply gift cards and gift certificates - the same that you would purchase at the stores. Many retailers are participating, including Sentry, Piggly Wiggly, Mobil, Kohls, Shopko, Pizza Hut and many, many others. TJ will buy the certificates at a discount and then member families, like yours, will buy them at full value and redeem them just like cash or give them as very welcome gifts. The school keeps the difference as revenue. So, you can help earn funds for the school without spending a single additional penny!  The program has been in effect now for several months and is gaining popularity. Even if you only buy groceries and gas, you can use Scrip to purchase those items and still help support the school! Enrollment forms are available in the school office and it just takes a couple of minutes to get started. We know that once you try this program you will see the benefits!  

Your SCRIP will be available for pickup on the following Fridays. Remember to stock up for school supplies and clothes!

• For those of you who shop at Pick n Save, please join the We Care program with its savers card. TJ's number is 833375 - it's "painless", but helps the school!
• Sentry Receipts AND McDonalds - These Port Washington stores has committed to return a percentage of all purchases to the school!  Just bring your receipts to the school office.
• Anyone with a Target Visa card, earns money on all purchases, not just at Target. The JPG ID number is 109319. Sign up at Target or www.target.com  
• And for those who send in Box Tops for Education and Kemp's 5 cent milk caps - keep up the good work.  We are now also collecting Campbells Soup Labels!  If you haven't done this before, it does make a difference  - nearly $1,000 this past year alone!

In short, the more participation we have in these programs, the more things we can do for TJ. Thanks for your help - and we hope to see you at the upcoming JPG meetings!
