During the upcoming months, both the public and school libraries of Port Washington and Saukville are collaborating to promote life-long learning, excitement about reading, and connections between community members through our fourth annual One Book, One Community program. The purpose of One Book, One Community is to bring together the community through reading a common book and participating in discussions and other activities focusing on the book and related topics. Last year we enjoyed reading A Sand County Almanac, by Aldo Leopold, a collection of essays that describe the land around the author's home in Sauk County, Wisconsin and explain the author's "land ethic". This year the committee has chosen The Fault in Our Stars, by John Green, which focuses on two teens as they deal with cancer and learn to enmbrace life in the spite of their difficult circumstances.
