Message From Principal

Greetings Saukville Elementary Students, Parents, and 
Community Members:

We have just completed an outstanding second quarter and our students are learning and having tons of fun.  We had a great turnout for our Student Showcase. Our Showcase is always a wonderful opportunity for us to share all the amazing things our students have been doing in some of our specialty areas like music, art, and physical education.  For those of you who could not attend we started off the evening with a performance from our fourth grade chorus students who have been working hard every morning with Mrs. Smith during Small Group Learning time.  Mrs. Leece had a Mini Art Show displayed in the cafeteria and had projects for families to work on in the art room, and as always Mrs. Piontek had the students “cutting a rug” in the gym as they demonstrated all the dances they have been learning.  The whole building was buzzing with activities. 

The Showcase highlighted some of the great results we are seeing from our enrichment opportunities during Small Group Learning time.  Be sure to ask your child what they are doing during this time.  The staff is getting very creative and expanding the learning opportunities for our students.  For example students in Mrs. Voeller’s Technology Class have been learning many different ways to communicate information.  They have learned about how to create Word documents, PowerPoints, and charts in Excel.  They also have been introduced to Prezi, Wordle, and Google Docs.  Along the way, they have improved their ability to seek out help using Internet Tutorials and how to follow written directions independently.  It is truly amazing to see our students learning on so many levels.

In the upcoming weeks, we have Parent/Teacher conferences scheduled.  Our staff is very excited to discuss your child’s education and to show how far he/she has come during the first semester. I hope to see everyone at conferences.
