Congratulations to the Port Washington High School Life Packs team! Winners of the 2016 Kapco Community Challenge. The group was selected from 19 area teams that submitted ideas on ways to improve our community.
This team put together over 250 Lifepacks for the homeless in Milwaukee. Life packs include hats, gloves, blankets, and other essential items. The group also raised money and collected food for our local food pantry.
Congratulations to all 19 teams (including 2 more teams from PWHS) that competed in the challenge raising over $500,000 in less than two months to impact thousands of lives in a very positive way through dental care, transportation, food, mental health support, chemo ducks for cancer patients and many other unique ideas.
The presentation was made November 16, 2016 at the Turner Hall Ballroom. Pictured is the winning team with judges Jim Kaczmarcik, Katrina Cravey, Drew Olsen, and Jerry Augustine. Team members include Brynn Greisch, Cordy Larsen, Jacob Liebergen, Sophie Dimmer, Ryan Liebergen, Chad Spaeth, Tristan Schaefer and Kaylyn Garant.
