Notice of Educational Options 2019-20
Hello Everyone!Welcome to the Port Washington-Saukville School District and our website. In spite of the COVID19 challenges facing us, we have continued to maintain this very special place; focusing on our culture, the needs of all students, and our staff members. We also continue our comprehensive and intensive interview process to hire the best of the best. Our culture and strong hiring practices have been essential for success in the classrooms.
On June 30th, I will be finishing my 21st year with you as your superintendent. I sent a letter to all of our families on February 4, 2021 announcing my retirement and moving on to new adventures. A copy of that letter is posted above. I want to thank all of our present and past parents, students, and school board, along with our outstanding staff for the incredible work we have been doing together as we educate our students academically, socially, and emotionally.
The School Board is in the process of working with a superintendent search firm to help find my replacement. As the new person joins us, I know you will welcome them as you did me 21 years ago. Also, I would like you to know that two of the School Board’s hiring goals are to make certain that we continue our present culture and maintain our intensive interview process. Those are the two key components to helping our school district become even stronger and to move forward with high expectations.
On another note, please visit the middle school webpage for exciting K-8 summer school information, which is transitioning us from last year’s online summer school to in-person, interactive summer school this year; with masks, social distancing, and cleaning.
Since the start of the pandemic, we have been able to maintain our comprehensive high school system; offering strong academic programs, advanced placement classes, technical education classes, computer programming, music, fine arts, and special programming for students who struggle with academic and social skills. Also, our K-12 five psychologists and five counselors continue working closely with our partner mental health agencies to support students and families. The expertise of many of our community members has been critical to the success of our students.Thank you, and please continue your strong support of our students and their programs.
Michael R. Weber, Ph.D.
