Saukville Elementary

Where Eagles Soar

Message from the Principal

  • Greetings Saukville Elementary Students, Parents/Guardians, and Community Members:

With the 2017-2018 school year quickly coming to a close, here's a few announcements.

In June we will be getting new playground equipment!  Our current equipment is over 20 years old and becoming unsafe for the students.  Because of the huge expense of the equipment we were able to keep the cost down by utilizing the community build option where the company comes in with a few of their experts and we supply volunteers to construct the equipment.  So I am looking for volunteers to join me on Wednesday June 20 and/or Thursday, June 21 to help with the construction.  My plan is to gather as many volunteers as we can to come whenever they can over those two days.  If you are willing to help out, please just email me and let me know.  Even if it’s only an hour or two, we need as many volunteers as possible to make this happen!!

I’m sure you have noticed our Nature Center is full of dead Ash trees which we are in the process of removing.  The dead Ash trees closest to the building have already been cut down and cleaned up.  The rest of trees will be slowly cleaned up over time.  Our plan is to expand our school playground to increase our green space and re-plant trees where appropriate.

Lastly I am very happy to announce Saukville Elementary School for the 3rd year in a row was named a School of Recognition for High Achievement from the State of Wisconsin.  The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has been giving out this award for five years.  After a little digging I discovered only one other school besides SES has received this honor three times.  I think that is pretty exciting and a nice pat on the back for our students, staff, and families.

I would like to close by thanking you for allowing us to work with your children for another great year.  It is an honor and we appreciate all the support we get from our families.

Have a great summer and as always, GO EAGLES!

    Mr. Brakke
    Principal
