  • Summer School English/Communications Teacher

    Port Washington High School

    Job Description:  This is a summer school teaching position working with Communications 1 & 2 students (Freshman and Sophomore English courses) on a pass/fail system to recover credit from the school year. We encourage you to try some new things out and have some fun engaging and connecting students to the main topics/themes covered in the courses that were missed during the year.

    Necessary Qualifications:  Must be creative and like to work one on one with kids. We practice Penny Kittle concepts and emphasize reading and writing. This will be a sand box for you to experiment in to get the kids connected to the curriculum.
    Wisconsin DPI Educator Licenses Required: 1300 – English

    FTE/Hours:  Mondays-Thursdays, June 12th through July 20th from 8:00am - 12:30pm

    Hourly Wage:  $25/hour, with 30 minutes of paid prep time for every 4 hours of class

  • District Aquatic Center Lifeguard

    Job Description :
    Maintain the safety of the patrons in and around the pool, represent the District Aquatic Center (DAC) by maintaining a professional attitude, communicate and enforce all DAC regulations and pool rules in a personable and professional manner, attend all staff meetings/in-services, remain alert and use all senses while guarding, record daily participation numbers and complete daily activity reports, set up the pool for various activities when needed, handle all incidents in a manner appropriate to your training, be able to respond to an emergency and activate EAP/contact EMS, perform all duties as assigned.

    Necessary Qualifications:  American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification

    Hours: 5:00-8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday

    Starting Pay:  $9.47/hour

  • Part-Time Cleaning Custodians

    Job Description:  Assist evening maintenance custodians with assigned tasks throughout the building.  The job will primarily be classroom and school cleaning.

    Necessary Qualifications:  Applicants must be detail minded.  Cleaning experience is a plus. Good interpersonal communication ability required to interact effectively with staff, students, and the public is a necessity.  Candidates must possess a positive attitude, have a clean work record and obtain satisfactory scores on District tests.

    Work Hours:  Monday-Friday, second shift, up to 25 hrs/week

    Starting Pay:  $10.00 hour

    The District is accepting applications for substitute teachers at all grade levels.

    Necessary Qualifications:
    Candidates must possess or obtain a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) teaching license OR substitute teaching permit. 

    Candidates who are not yet licensed should review the requirements and application instructions for obtaining a substitute teaching permit on the Educator Licensing page of DPI's website at:  https://dpi.wi.gov/tepdl/licensing. Approval of an application from a non-licensed application would be contingent upon the candidate becoming licensed prior to employment.

    A bachelor's degree (or higher) is required.  Candidates must also have experience working with children as well as strong technology skills to be able to facilitate learning in the classroom.
