    Offerings:

    Art Club - Mrs. Welton - gr 5-8 - 2022-2023 session has concluded. October 2022 through January 2023. Do you like to work with clay, plaster, wood, wire, or paint? Then this club is for you! Do you like to draw?  Do you like to paint?  Do you like to try new things and work at your own pace?  Then this club is for you! Feel free to stop in and ask Mrs. Welton any questions that you may have.

    Beta Club  - Mrs. Michel and Mrs. Johnson - gr 8 - a National Junior Honor Society for 8th grade students. The club provides students with an opportunity to practice leadership skills and to participate in community service activities. If you have questions, please contact TJ's school counselors Mrs. Michel or Mrs. Johnson. The fee is $32 which includes a Beta Club certificate and pin.

    Card Club - Mrs. Streicher - gr 5-8

    Carpentry Club - Mr. Cowen - gr 6-8 - students will learn some basic woodworking skills and safety procedures and make one or two small projects. Each session will meet four times from 3:00p - 4:30p. The fee ($15) will cover materials that will be used.

    Chess ClubMrs. LaJoice and Mrs. Levy - gr 5-8 - Chess for experienced or non-experienced students. Students will play weekly games. Students will learn game rules and strategies. Tuesdays Jan 3 - March 7, 2023 after school 3p-4p in the TJMS library. $10 for both semesters (ten weeks, each semester).

    Coding Club - Mr. Behnke - gr 5-8 - Mondays after school 2:45p - 3:45p in Mr. Behnke's learning lab (room 228). No charge. The next and last meeting will be April 24, 2023.

    Sewing Club - Mrs. Reyes - gr 5-8 - TJ students are invited to join the TJMS Sewing Club, where they will learn some basic hand and machine sewing skills and safety procedures, learn about fabric types and using patterns, and they will get to keep the projects that they complete!

    Student Ambassador / Student Leadership - Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Michel gr 5-8 - This is an extracurricular activity for students who want to positively impact their school community, demonstrate the Jaguar Way (Respect, Responsibility & Kindness), and plan fun school events & activities. Large group meetings will be held at 7am in the TJMS Choir Room on select Tuesdays (see below dates); committees will meet at other times during the school day (i.e WIN, lunch & recess) to plan and coordinate events/activities.

    Talent Show - Mrs. Szymczak and Ms Greisch

    Yearbook - Mrs. Blankenburg and Mrs. Smith - gr 6-8 - students may join the Yearbook Club to help capture memories and tell the story of their time at Thomas Jefferson Middle School. Students will help with taking pictures, developing the theme for the yearbook, creating the design of the yearbook, editing the yearbook, and organizing the images and memories from the year into a beautiful keepsake!  Advisors are Mrs. Smith or Mrs. Blankenburg
