Update from Mr. Burke

4/7/2020:  UPDATE for SENIORS

One of the special events we had planned for the spring was a senior signing assembly.  At the assembly, we were going to recognize all of the future plans for our seniors (military, tech school, work, 2 or 4 year school, gap year, etc).  We plan to still make this happen in a video fashion.  We hope you are all willing to be a part of this for the senior class!

Here is what we need from you!

1.       Fill out the survey link:  SENIOR SURVEY

2.          We would love a picture of you wearing something that recognizes your choice for after high school (uniform, t-shirt, college bling)  Please send to Melissa McCaman

Update from Mr. Burke and a fun magic trick

This is an update based on information we received today from district office in response to Governor Ever’s order.

·        Building is closed during spring break

·        Custodians, food service, technology, and administrators will have some hours in the building.  If you need any support, help or questions for any of these groups, they will be checking email regularly and will help as they are able.

·        Building will remain closed after spring break until further notice, we will have the vestibule open for students to pick up “absolutely essential” items from 8-10 AM each morning.  Only come to vestibule to pick up items if you are specifically asked for a class.  We will allow only one person in vestibule at a time.  Most if not all items will be available to you via the internet on powerschool learning.

Video to Parents and Students

Monday, March 16, 2020--UPDATE

Good Morning Students and Parents,

This is a long message, please read through all of the information.  If you have any questions, please contact us at the high school.  It is critical that students and parents are checking their email several times a day for information from the school.  This includes updates from the office and all the different teachers.

Towards the bottom of this email is a good article on the facts of the coronavirus.  I think it would help if you read and review these facts as a family and also why it is important that students not view this time similar to a snow day.

We will provide further updates as necessary.

Information on Classes for Students:

Teachers are working on a plan this week for online learning.  We will be utilizing a combination of PowerSchool learning(haiku) and resources like google chat to meet virtually with students on lessons, assign work, provide support, and give assessments.  We will provide students and parents more information on when online learning starts later this week.

Together, teachers are working on:

  • Curriculum that will be taught online
  • How it will be taught
  • How teachers will support students that need help
  • How it will be assessed
