INVESTING IN EXCELLENCE: PWSSD ANNOUNCES REVITALIZATION OF EDUCATION FOUNDATION

The Port Washington-Saukville School District (PWSSD) is pleased to announce the revitalization of the PWSSD Foundation, Inc. Originally established a decade ago, this community-led non-profit is entering a new chapter focused on one goal: turning the ambitious educational dreams of our local teachers into classroom realities.

The PWSSD Foundation is an independent non-profit organization that works alongside the District to support its mission of being “Student Focused, Future Ready”. However, it is important to note the Foundation is not part of the District’s annual operating budget. Because the Foundation Board solely determines how funds are raised and distributed, it serves as a vital bridge between the community and the classroom. By securing private donations and sponsorships, the Foundation funds innovative, teacher-pitched projects that traditional tax dollars cannot otherwise cover.

This new chapter of the Foundation is building on an impressive legacy of service. The District extends a sincere note of thanks to the founding leaders of the Foundation including Sheri Bunyan, Tom Ross, Jim Froemming, Brenda Fritsch, John Lanser, Jane Hurley, and Jennifer Clearwater. Last night, the Foundation took an important step forward by electing officers to carry on their mission of “enhancing the educational experience of all PWSSD students”.

Please join us in celebrating this enthusiastic new leadership team:

Andrea Marquard - President
Katie Becker - Vice President
Megan White - Treasurer
Sean Malloy - Secretary

Along with these officers, the Board is rounded out by directors Matt McCann, Lauren Malloy, Renae Buyeske, and Jered McGivern, all of whom are eager to build upon the excellence already found in the Port Washington-Saukville School District. “I am excited to begin this journey of building strong relationships with our teachers, staff, and community partners, creating new and engaging opportunities that will positively impact student learning across the Port Washington-Saukville School District.” said new Foundation president Andrea Marquard.

The Foundation has already launched its first initiative: building community partnerships and securing the resources necessary to begin awarding classroom grants for the 2026-2027 school year. Through this program, teachers can apply for funding to support creative projects and hands-on learning experiences of their own design.

To make these projects possible, the Foundation invites community members, alumni, and local businesses to invest in our students' futures. Your financial support goes directly toward teacher-led initiatives intended to transform the learning experience for every student in the District. Community members interested in donating, sponsoring a project, or attending the Foundation’s monthly meetings (held the third Monday of each month) are encouraged to reach out.
