The Port Washington-Saukville School District (PWSSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of two experienced educational leaders to its administrative team for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Jared Kiesow has been named the new Principal of Dunwiddie Elementary School (DES), and Jill Schwenzen will join the district as the Assistant Principal of Thomas Jefferson Middle School (TJMS).

“We are beyond excited to welcome Jared and Jill to the Port Washington-Saukville family,” said Superintendent Dr. Michael McMahon. “As we continue to work toward our mission of being ‘student focused and future ready,’ these two leaders bring a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for student success. We are eager to get them acclimated to our wonderful community!”

Jared Kiesow – Principal, Dunwiddie Elementary School

Jared Kiesow joins PWSSD from the West Bend School District, where he has served as an Assistant Principal at West Bend East and West High Schools. A former standout student-athlete and honors graduate in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Jared brings a deep understanding of the foundational years of learning. While he is currently working with high schoolers, his move to lead Dunwiddie Elementary is a return to his academic roots. He is known for his collaborative leadership style and his commitment to building strong, positive relationships with students and staff alike.

Jill Schwenzen – Assistant Principal, Thomas Jefferson Middle School

Jill Schwenzen joins PWSSD with extensive administrative experience, most recently serving as the Principal of Woodview Elementary in the Grafton School District since 2021. Her career in education is rooted in student advocacy, having previously served as an Assistant Principal at Sheboygan North High School and Bradford High School in Kenosha. With a professional foundation in Special Education and Social Work, Jill is uniquely equipped to support the diverse needs of middle school learners and is looking forward to supporting the students of TJMS during their critical developmental years while maintaining high expectations and a positive school climate.

District Transitions and Continuity

These appointments come as the district prepares for several leadership transitions. Current Lincoln Elementary School (LES) Principal Jane Gennerman will be retiring at the conclusion of the current school year. Following her retirement, current Dunwiddie Principal Elyse Voskuil will transition to lead Lincoln Elementary School as its new Principal. To ensure a smooth transition at the middle school level, current TJMS Assistant Principal Jodi Swagel will continue to serve as the district’s Summer School Principal. She will also remain in her role at Thomas Jefferson through mid-September to assist Jill Schwenzen as she settles into her new position and becomes acquainted with the students and staff.

“Through Jared and Jill, we are bringing in exceptional new energy and expertise,” added Dr. McMahon. “At the same time, by having Elyse lead Lincoln and Jodi assist with the transition at TJMS, we are keeping the deep institutional knowledge that makes our district special. We are also immensely grateful to Jane Gennerman for her years of dedicated service and wish her the very best in her well-deserved retirement. This balance of growth and stability will allow us to be ‘future ready’ without losing the ‘student-focused’ commitment our families rely on. I truly believe we are well-positioned for a fantastic 2026-2027 school year.”

The Port Washington-Saukville School District looks forward to introducing Jared and Jill to families and staff at upcoming district events.
